What’s the best way to end the winter? Exactly, by snowboarding your way through the beautiful Austrian mountains! Off course we fell a few times ..
After a 10 hour drive from Rotterdam we arrived in Ellmau, a small but lovely village in Tirol, Austria. The village is situated in a fir tree valley and almost all of the houses are made out of wooden beams. Every house has wooden carved doors and balconies. It just looks so nice, getting that Christmas feel in March!
Our apartment had the best view over Wilder Kaiser, peaking at a height of 2.344 meters. Skiwelt Wilder Kaiser is the largest ski area of Austria with over 280 kilometers of pistes. You can image we had a great time out there.
When in Austria, you really need to taste all the authentic food the country has to offer. And so we did. If you are planning on going, go during the winter time and ask for kaiserschmarrn or germknodel in one of the cosy snowy mountain huts. Success guaranteed!
Between riding the slopes and eating all the Austrian quisine we could eat, we made a trip to Salzburg as well. Everything about this trip is up on the blog here.
Although we enjoyed everything about this little break – including the early morning get ups and the cold – we can’t wait for summer to arrive now!
We will keep you posted ♡
Love, Iss & Maud
