JUNGLE VIBES, KOH YAO NOI | NOVEMBER 2017

November 29, 2017

We hope you guys love our journey so far, cuz we definitely do! After a nice couple of days in Phuket we have officially started our round trip now. Next stop: Koh Yao Noi.

First off, we must say all the Thai people we met are so kind! Humble, honest, nothing is too much and always smiling and willing to help! We got lost driving around the island – which is almost ridiculous because of its size, but yes – and they immediately showed us the entire way to our Koh Yao Noi home!

About that home, we stayed at a luxurious hide away resort called The Island Hideout and it absolutely blew our minds! Luxury, check. Typical Thai style, check. Best home made breakfast, lunch Γ‘nd dinner, check. Infinity pool, double check. We felt like little kids in a candy store!

The resort is small and private, tucked away on a mountain with the most amazing jungle and ocean view. The Hideout has four jungle lodges with open air bathrooms and bedrooms. We slept in a side-seaview lodge where we could experience open air living, privacy, real luxury and tranquility at its best. Having no WiFi, TV or mobile phone connection makes you even more conscious of your surroundings and lets you appreciate nature even more!

Koh Yao Noi means Long Small Island in Thai and that is definitely true. The Island has a big sister called Koh Yao Yai (Long Big Island) and they are part of the Phang Nga bay. Both islands are not touristy at all, something we honestly don’t get because they are absolutely gorgeous!

We went on a little roadtrip during our stay exploring Koh Yao Noi and rented a motorbike via our resort. We got a bit of discount and paid 250 baht per day, which is around 5 euros. If you compare that to a taxi (around 300 baht for 15 minutes), a motorbike is the best way to get yourself anywhere in Thailand!

We saw rice fields, palm trees, all kinds of animals, a lot of farm life, rubber plantations and a few deserted beaches on our way around the island. A drive around the entire island of Koh Yao Noi takes you 45 minutes. We must say, Koh Yao Noi, you surprised us with your beauty! Make sure you visit this island and its big sister, and go for the jungle lodge at The Island Hideout for a fascinating stay. Thank you for having us and we will see you very soon I bet!
